PNEUMATERS PAX System
Continue the journey even after a loss of pressure.
Michelin PAX System
Michelin's PAX System technology is an innovative solution designed to improve tire safety and reliability in the event of a puncture or sudden loss of pressure. This advanced system, introduced by Michelin, was developed to ensure superior performance and a safe driving experience, even in emergency situations.
COMPONENTS
- Special tire: Made with a reinforced structure, the tire is designed to resist pressure loss without compromising vehicle stability.
- Internal support insert: A rigid material structure placed inside the tire allows the vehicle to continue traveling even in the event of a total loss of pressure. The insert prevents crushing and damage to the tire while maintaining load capacity.
- Dedicated rim: The system uses a specially designed rim that provides optimal grip between the tire and the rim, preventing the tire from coming off during low-pressure driving.
- Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS): Built-in sensors constantly detect tire pressure and alert the driver if there are any abnormalities.
Runflat
RunFlat systems (also known as RunFlat inserts) are bolted onto the wheel rims and support the tire when it is deflated, allowing the vehicle to continue driving safely for up to 100 km in the event of ballistic or terrain damage to the tire.
When the tire is fully inflated, the RunFlat system has no effect on vehicle performance or handling.
If the tire deflates, the RunFlat system prevents complete deflation by supporting the tire and allows the vehicle to continue its journey until its passengers and contents reach a safe place.
